It’s the Brew Crew Corner season kickoff edition. This Thursday kicks off the season with the New Orleans Saints hosting the Minnesota Vikings. The defending champions are 6-0 in Thursday season openers. The Saints will have a tough time with the Vikings, but I think they will keep the streak alive.

Plenty of variety to begin the 2010 season with, as Vinnie hitches his wagon to some teams playing at home and some teams on the road. Some favorites, some underdogs. About the only theme within Vinnie’s Week 1 picks is AFC North teams. Oh, and you might even find some surprise picks, too.

If there weren't surprises each week in the NFL, they wouldn't have to play the games.  Each and every week there's a head scratcher, one that doesn't seem to make sense.  The Redskins beating the Cowboys to me is a shocker and that's exactly what will happen, keep 911 on speed dial Cowboys fans.  The Cowboys will do well in the air, they'll do well on the ground, heck, their offense will rumble but the Redskins defense will have their mini-moments of glory too.  What some folks may not realize is that the Redskins secondary is good, really good.  New coordinator Jim Haslett has moved guys around and put them in positions to succeed.  Where the Redskins win this is with some untimely interceptions from Tony Romo that cause a shift to the odds that the Redskins walk away victorious.  Donovan McNabb will play well and will be the primary difference maker for the Redskins on Sunday night.  Start your Cowboys, they'll play well, and don't be afraid of Donovan McNabb as he'll also impress early.  It's his longevity and time coming back from those little scrapes here and there that will ultimately be his undoing in 2010, but until then, play him till the proverbial wheels fly off.

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster propelled himself into the fantasy football stratosphere like a shooting star in Week 1, streaking through the Indianapolis Colts shell-shocked defense for a Texans franchise-record 231 rushing yards and three scores on 33 carries, which was also the second-best opening day rushing performance in NFL history. Check.  The Saints have Drew Brees and the 49'ers have, well, Alex Smith.  Check.  The Saints are defending SuperBowl Champs!  Who Dat?!?  Check.  And that's why the 49'ers will win this game, primarily because they're not expected to.

Welcome to Week 2 of the Brew Crew Corner. I don’t think I blinked once this weekend as I watched as many games as I could possible fit in. My first fantasy week was a mix of domination and two losses due to players underperforming. I mainly missed out on a win due to the struggles of Ray Rice and DeSean Jackson. I know those players are going to bounceback, but I’m worried about Jackson's production with Kolb out due to injury.

It’s 2010, it’s back and it’s players owned in less than 10 percent of leagues to take you through into Week 2. You know the drill - it’s Deeper & Down.

Do not panic if you were not victorious in Week 1. The season is very young and your team may not be as weak as it appears. Or, you still may be celebrating as Arian Foster carried your team to victory. Regardless of your record, it is time to prep for Week 2. I have chosen one player from each offensive position and a defense in this week’s "Dive.” These players may be in your starting lineup or sitting on your bench hoping to play this week. It is your decision who to start, but always be prepared and beware of the factors affecting each matchup.

And the Darren McFadden show rolls on. Bruce Gradkowski will get the start at QB for the Raiders and don't be too quick to grab the Cardinals Defense as a sneaky play as Gradkowski will play fairly well. The Raiders can turn their team into a dominant running team with the talent they have and so far, Darren McFadden has been everything we said he could be. This will be a low scoring, pad-on-pad affair with both teams focusing on their ground games so that their QB's don't hurt them. Derek Anderson has the tools, but maybe not the head to be a top QB in the NFL, worry about Larry Fitzgerald's long term success in 2010. If you can package him up in a deal, do it, his value may never be higher. Once again, just imagine Larry Fitzgerald in a Colts uniform, the hair on the back of my neck just stood up.

Featuring nine intradivisional showdowns, week 4 is very appealing in terms of television ratings and how watchable the majority of games will be - but not so appealing in terms of the general level of predictability. Vinnie has a few picks for you nonetheless.

Week 4 in the NFL arrives with a full spate of divisional rivalries. The guys also manage to take aim at western shootouts, taxes, car accidents and your wife’s shopping habits, and manage to annoy PETA supporters everywhere with some ill-advised turns of phrase in discussing Michael Vick. It doesn’t get any better than this, unless you’re watching one of the Games to Watch.

When we drafted players over the summer, we expected the superstars to lead the leagues we play in. But, players like Maurice Jones-Drew, Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss and Michael Turner are not even ranked in the top 50. There is still time for these players to turn things around, and if you can get these players cheap in a trade do so now because they will cost too much later on.

The New England Patriots got a scare from Buffalo, which wouldn’t go away in that game. However, they were able to survive and we can move on to next week. The byes begin as we have entered Week 4, which means there are fewer games and fewer teams to choose from. Check out my entire game-by-game analysis for the upcoming week …

Philip Rivers is playing at an extremely high level and while he isn't mentioned in the same breath with guys like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, he and Peyton Manning will likely be competing for top dog honors in 2010. Antonio Gates has been solid and the Chargers wisely kept forcing Malcom Floyd to get involved and he's coming around. There's bits of talent in the Chargers receiving group, enough for a quality QB like Philip Rivers to make it all hum. It sounds like rookie RB Ryan Mathews will be back this week but Mike Tolbert has earned a few extra carries too. This will make the Chargers even more versatile and improve their offense that much more. Expect a Chargers outpouring of statistics on Sunday from everywhere in their depth chart.

The offense was one-sided. The offense was nonexistent. The scores were not going your way. I have found out that by Week 3 the scoring takes a tumble on one side and gets amped up on the other side.
